On the 28th December 2010 Belper Mills was subject to a major flood due to a frozen pipe on the 7th floor which affected lower floors. At 9.30pm the problem was reported, our onsite building manager contacted our ‘Help Desk’ and an emergency team were en-route at 7am the following morning. A team including an electrician were isolating the supply and making the building safe working with the fire safety officer, started to dry the building out and make safe therefore minimising tenant disruption. The building was back up an operational by the 2nd January ready for the start of the new business year, this proactive approach ensured no business days were lost for tenants.
Unit 36 Springvale Industrial Estate suffered a major leak, which was reported by our security to our ‘Help Desk’ on Boxing Day 2010, despite not having up to date contact information from the tenant, we tracked down the company Director who was on overseas business and he was then able alert a local member of staff to shut off the water supply and the power to the unit over the Christmas Break therefore minimising the damage. We are now working through with our insurer’s contractors to repair the damage.
